MATHCOUNTS

2018-2019


MATHCOUNTS is a nation-wide, extracurricular math program for high-achieving middle school students. This fun and challenging program will inspire middle school students and advance their skills, confidence, and curiosity in math.


The coaches are Foothill High School student volunteers and former Mathcounts participants who have advanced math knowledge and are veteran math competitors.

We will hold an informational meeting for all interested parents and students on

3:15pm – 3:45pm in Room 204

The Mathcounts Club will meet weekly on Wednesdays, 3:15pm -4:10pm

August 29, 2018 - March 2019

(Placement Test date is 8/29)

Note: to register, you must currently be attending Pleasanton Middle School. Additionally, due to logistical concerns, we limit registration to 50 signups - first come, first serve.


Please note the following IMPORTANT information:

  • There will be many math competition opportunities, such as the AMC 8, AMC 10/12, Math Olympiad, Math Gold Challenge, Math Kangaroo, Mathleague. We also guarantee there is a room for every student, regardless of skill level. The ultimate goal is improvement.
  • $35 fee – pays for program registration, material printing, awards (checks payable to Pleasanton Middle School. Please put student’s full legal name and ID number on the check memo line, submit with your Mathcounts Participation Contract)
  • Mathcounts Participation Contract – must be signed by both parent and student
  • Parent volunteering at each MathCounts club meeting is encouraged. Sign up details will be provided at the informational meeting on August 22nd.
  • All information discussed during the meeting will be posted on the website afterwards so parents that missed the meeting can have access to it.
